The Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) has, for 30 years, championed women in business and created opportunities for connection, support and visibility at every stage of the entrepreneurial and leadership journey. That’s why CT is very proud to be headline sponsor of the ASB's 30th Anniversary Celebration & Awards this November.

CT’s purpose statement is the joy of helping others succeed. This is a phrase that reflects what we do, how we do and most importantly why we do it: we exist to help others, and we come to work every day because we enjoy doing that. That’s why this partnership with the ASB feels like such a natural fit.

30 years of help…

The ASB has brought businesswomen together to share experiences, overcome challenges and celebrate success throughout its 30 years. It started as a network for women who were often isolated in senior roles, and has grown into an organisation that helps businesses across Scotland by supporting entrepreneurs, founders and leaders. The local ASB affiliated groups are powerful tools that offer networks and wisdom to help people realise their potential and succeed on their own terms.

…and more still to do

The 30th Anniversary Celebration & Awards will recognise the achievements of Scottish businesswomen and celebrate how much has changed since the ASB was founded in 1996. Since then, more women have taken on leadership positions, more women have launched successful businesses, and more women have created support networks to provide a helping hand.

But the event will also provide an opportunity to continue conversations about the support, investment and networks needed to help the next generation of female founders and business leaders thrive. We’re currently in a position where female-led businesses apply for, and receive, very low amounts of finance compared to mixed or male-led businesses, and the ASB has a part to play in that.

A partnership with personal meaning

This sponsorship carries an added significance for me, because I’m a member of both the ASB and CT teams. In those capacities I’ve seen the direct impact both organisations have and the value that their support and networks bring. I've seen first-hand how good advice and good connections help people and their ideas to thrive and the sense of achievement and community it can foster– in short, I’ve seen how it’s a joy to help others succeed.

The opportunity to connect with other women in business, learn from shared experiences and build meaningful relationships is really important and we’re delighted to support an organisation that does so much to encourage ambition, foster connections and create opportunities for women in business. We’re looking forward to joining ASB members, founders and business leaders in November to celebrate this important milestone and the many successes still to come.
